Men's eyebrows at barber shop?

i am 16 years old and i am a male, and i want my eyebrows to be trimmed/cleaned/shaped. so what should i really ask for, i mean i don't want it too thin and isn't this gay

if they really bother you you should inquire as to whether or not this is something they do at the barber shop on a regular basis. ie: you don't want a novice messing with your eyebrows and you ending up looking like mr. spock, lol.





if you don't feel comfortable, you can always go to the local nail salon. they do men's eyebrows so you have no reason to feel ';funny'; about it. just ask them to make them neat, be very specific about what you want as to avoid any problems with being unhappy with what you end up with.





eyebrows take alot longer to grow back in and sometimes a single hair can make all the difference. that said, unless you have wild man eyebrows you may want to ask them to tweeze only vs. wax (or maybe just wax across your nose of this is a thick area that needs to be removed completely.) otherwise make it clear you would like them ';shaped'; or ';cleaned up'; with a tweezer only. it should give you a more natural look. plus it will grow in looking less obvious.

A barber is going to clip them either with scissors or a clipper. It will leave them short and feeling wiry to the touch because the fine tapered ends will be cut off. I suggest getting a pair of eyebrow tweezers and pulling out the ones that are where they shouldn't be like in the unibrow area and the overly long ones that may be sticking out. It is usually best not to pull any out from the top of the eyebrow, if the eyebrow is too thick, but only from below. Go at it gradually. It all doesn't have to be done in a day or even a week. The idea is not to have them look like they have been shaped or waxed like a girls. There still should be stray brows. Eyebrows have a relatively short lifespan as far as hair goes. By pulling out the overly long ones and only keeping eyebrows below a certain length, the younger ones that are still growing, one can have fairly normal looking brows even if they would be overly long, thick and wiry if left in till the eyebrow grew till its terminal length. Just go at it very gradually and you'll be fine.

If you to a good barber or stylist, they should automatically trim your eyebrows without you even asking. I am a stylist, and I always trim eyebrows and also ears to be sure there is no hair growing out of them. Maybe you need a new barber.
its not gay. i actually like ugys with their eyebrows at least a little groomed. bushy isn't attractive. i think you should say...'is there any chance you could clean up my eyebrows? give them a little trim or something?'


or if you're really brave and you don't really want them to do it, then pluck your eyebrows.
