Have you been to a hairdressers or barber shop and got the most shitty hair cut and still say thank you?
Yes. I'm too polite. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Consequently, I let people get away with too much. It's hard to change though.

Yes. Coz sometimes they do it bang on. And if you don't say thankyou they will remember you and make it worse next time. But if you explain next time that it wasn't as good as you had it last time, they will endeavour to do it exactly how you want. Or alternatively find another place who will listen or do what you want as they go along trimming or cutting your hair.
Be polite as you can, but don't show any frustration.
