Can a Women be a Barber?

I say no only men I'm a sexist.Can a Women be a Barber?
They can be a hairdresserCan a Women be a Barber?
Yes they can. They can go to barber school. Just like men can go to school to be a hair dresser too. They don't discriminate for either profession.

I think that most of everyone here seems to think that barber is another word for a male while hairdresser is feminine which is very untrue. When you go to barber school, you are trained to use straight edge razors and even passing the test, you are shaving a balloon! No kidding! You also train more extensively with an electric buzz clipper than if you do with just a scissors. You also exclusively deal with men's hair and beards.

As far as training is concerned, both the hair dresser and the barber go through about 2000 hours of training and this will depend upon the state that you live in.

A little trivia that you perhaps don't know is that

at one time a barber's job meant more than it does today and was mostly a male profession.

During most of the Middle Ages (5th century to 14th century AD), the practice of surgery declined. It was viewed as inferior to medicine, and its practice was left to barbers who traveled from town to town cutting hair, removing tumors, pulling teeth, stitching wounds, and bloodletting, the practice of draining blood from the body, then thought to cure illness. The red-and-white striped pole that today identifies barbershops derived its design from this practice. The red stripes symbolize blood and the white stripes signify the bandages.
Give me a break! What year/country were you born in? Here in the USA, anyone can be what ever they set out to be as long as they are able to put up with asinine attitudes like yours. Some of the best barbers I've ever had trim my hair, were highly skilled women, who had to overcome the prejudices of ';sexist'; idiots. Very likely, you are a prepubescent teen who is trying to ';bolster his newly found manhood';. Grow up! See the world for what it is, and accept people for who they are. Until you do that, you will forever be looked at as someone who does not value anything in life.
Of course they can after finishing barber college.

Some of the best barbers are women.

I am a cosmetologist and worked in a small barber shop in Hawaii, my female boss was a barber.
by definition, a barber is someone who trims, cuts, and shaves men's hair. being a male is not a prerequisite. so, for a woman to be a barber is a no-brainer
How many beauty shops are run by women? So why can't a woman be a barber, they cut and style hair in a beauty shop! I seen men go to a beauty shop and get a hair cut, what world do you live in? DUH!
There are women barbers already. Actually, many men prefer to go to them.
Yes they can. Without the label of being a ';Barber';
