Who thinks Jerry Jones is a nut for even considering this trade. C'mon Marion Barber has shown that he can be a force in the NFL. What has McFadden proven. He has proven that he is a force in college, but look at how anxious people were a bout Reggie Bush and what is he doing know. the point is Marion Barber has proven that he can be domanint in the NFL. and McFadden hasn't. and I would like your opinion on this trade rumorMarion Barber For Darren Mcfadden?
I definitely agree.
However, imagine if the Cowboys got DMC and still kept Barber. That's one scary tandem.
As a Cowboys-hater, I really hope it doesn't happen.Marion Barber For Darren Mcfadden?
jerry jones played college at Arkansas, he has his eye on McFadden forever. Barbarian ain't all that.
I agree w/ you...I think McFadden has the potential to be a great player..but why risk it?
i think its lob sided
we already know that Marion barber is a good back
but what if Darren Mcfadden continues what he was doing in college? and become a second Adrian Peterson
there are lot of IF's but i would go with Marion barber
considering Mcfadden is a rookie and all it might take him some time to fit in but i would with what i like to call ';veteran Experience'; (thats Marion barber)
jerry would be out of his mind if he made this trade. barber is a beast and hasnt even had a full year as the feature back. nothings a given with macfadden. whos to say hes going to be what he was in college on the nfl level. i trust jerry, hes always open to listen thats what makes hims such a great owner but he will do whats best for dallas and keep marion the barbarian.
McFadden has the potential to be much, much better than Barber. With his combination of speed, power and moves he will dominate in the NFL if he stays healthy. Barber has proved he can run over people in the NFL but he can't last very long without a rest and he doesn't have great moves. Jerry Jones couldn't get this trade done if he wanted to.
While Barber is a proven back, he isnt exactly young, and McFadden has shown that he can be ALOT better than Barber.
Its the same deal. Is the reward worth the risk? I wouldn't say it is. Last I checked the Cowboys had a passing offense, so why would you waste the money on someone who may not even be a top-tier back when you could waste it on another washed-up WR?
forget that trade...
However, the Cowboys, should truly consider drafting later...and going after Felix Jones.
Felix and Marion would make a dominant tandem RB situation and it wouldn't cost Jerry and the Cowboys too much.
I agree, that is a very unwise trade. I would have to watch McFadden for one year as a pro before I would even consider him over Marion Barber.
I agree w/the Q asker. NFL 'proven-ness' always beats out potential in my book. If anything Jones needs to pick up some smaller faster guy to BU Barber; to keep him freash.
will never happen if it does they will have to trade marion barber and the 22 and 28 pick for a top 5 draft pick.
That would just be so f'ing STUPID! I mean, if he wanted McFadden that bad, why not resign J Jones and trade him? But to lose both their starting RB's from last season would be a devastation to chemistry and Romo's protection. Dallas don't make playoffs if they make that outrageous trade.
