Personally, I think this is the best movie of 2007 and that it's Burtons masterpiece. I found it to be humorous, heartbreaking, scary, intense, visually stunning, musically brilliant and breathtaking at times.





It is DEFINITELY worth seeing. I've seen it several times (at advanced screenings and once after it's official nationwide release).





Just keep in mind: it IS a musical. Burton has said in several interviews that it's 90% sung, so if the musical genre isn't your thing, you may have a problem with this film. But also keep in mind: this was adapted quite faithfully from Stephen Sondheim's stage production of the same name, and Sondheim is known as a musical and lyrical genius. His show (Sweeney Todd) is considered one of the ALL TIME best Broadway productions. That's the kind of musical you'll be in for when you see Sweeney Todd.Sweeny Todd the demon barber of fleet street REVIEWS????

It was interesting. The characters were hard to relate to in ways which made the ending fairly anti-climactic for me. I still loved Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett though. It is a bit cringe-worthy but still, go see it. The music and the visuals and the acting are phenomenal even if the gore is a bit much...
