What do you think of Jerry Jones basically calling Marion Barber a slacker?

I have been saying all year the biggest problem with the Cowboys is lack of discipline and accountability. Wade Phillips wants to keep making excuses, but he won't do what is neccesary to get the best out of his players. I think Jerry Jones has finally had enough of it. If I owned the team, I would probably have done the same thing. One thing I disagree with, though, is humiliating him to the press. Discipline and rebukes should be handled internally, but maybe Jerry is trying to get the message to the rest of the team that they have to actually earn those millions of dollars. There are no more free rides. It's just my opinion. What do you think? What do you think of Jerry Jones basically calling Marion Barber a slacker?
Maybe the shoe fit this time.............Somebody must have told Jones that Marion was OK to play. If not, he has probably ruined any production that he might get from barber for the rest of the year. Choice did look pretty good on Sunday however..........

Bottom line is that Jones writes the checks (and I do not like him) and he can say what he wants................Even though it might bite him in the butt. What do you think of Jerry Jones basically calling Marion Barber a slacker?
It's amazing to me how much of what someone says can be turned into something else. Jones, whom I don't care for, simply said he could have played. Now, everyone is saying that Jones called Barber a wussie. Amazing, but, that is not what he said. Barber may have been ';called out'; but, maybe he needed to be. It was a big game and a big game player would have been on the field, period. Provided he could walk.
I've never really cared for Jerry Jones. Then again I don't understand why he's not allowed to be the coach of the team. Hell, he does virtually everything else. In any case, like you I don't agree with the way he did that. He certainly could've done what he did in a different way to make the same point.
Jerry might need to reminded that when you take Barber out of the line up the lose. Barber is not the slacker of the team. Maybe Jerry needs to be kissing Barbers azz next
I love when owners do this, and I wish more of them would. I agree with your point, it should stay out of the press. But these prima donnas are making millions so they deserve it.
Most of the players might be slackers, but Marion Barber is not one of them, he is one of the hardest working players on the team.
I think hes wrong...

Marion Barber basically carried the Cowboys to a few wins this year.

Hes also tough to tackle.
From watching Barber play, I have no doubts about his toughness, and I think he would have played if he could have. Jones is well on his way to becoming the new Al Davis.
He's a liar!
I think that you are right, but Jerry Jones picked the wrong guy to pick on. The team is full of slackers who play hard when they are winning but pack it up when they lose. Marion Barber is one of the hardest running guys I have seen play the game. He gives everything he has on each play. Sure he has missed a few games due to injuries, and they thought he would be able to play on Sunday, but the guy is going to play if he can.

I think Jerry Jones made a very tactical decision thinking that the easiest person to pick on would be Barber because if he tried anyone else he would get some lashback. If he called out TO, TO would quit even more, he can't pick on Romo because right now Romo's confidence is waning, he can't pick on the coach because it was his decision to bring Phillips in. So I think picked on Barber hoping that Barber would just play through the criticism and hoping that the team would play tougher in order to help Barber dispell the issues.

I also think it was a mistake...but only time will tell. Jones will regret his actions when Barber decides he wants to play for a team and owner that will appreciate him.
he's a racist. He has no right to call a black man lazy.
